Pretty rad rumor going around that Led Zeppelin will be reuniting for a tour next year.

It is thought singer Robert Plant guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will re-group alongside late drummer John Bonham’s son Jason for the gig.

50 Cent was caught lip synching at the BET Awards  :)

I don’t care to talk much about politics but, if you haven’t seen the news, feel free to google “Cheney Executive Branch” or “Bush Subpoena“.  Our government scares me, especially in light of the presidential directive that gives Bush complete control of the federal government following a “catastrophic emergency.”

The iPhone madness is exactly that.  There are reports all over about the lines growing in front of Apple stores from coast to coast.  Apple just released an iTunes update that’s needed to activate the iPhone (the phone’s activation process is now done on your computer at home… no long waits in stores).  It’s also a good day to be an Apple employee, since yesterday Steve Jobs announced that all employees would get a free iPhone.  I definitely want one though right now there’s no way I could justify spending that money on it.  Which is good, I suppose, as there are rumors that a European 3G version might be announced on Monday.  As insulting as that would be to those who bought theirs over the weekend, I’d much rather have 3G (and GPS) and since you don’t have a choice but to be locked into a 2 year contract once you buy it…

Sweating Grenades

Wayyyy too hot in our apartment lately. We don’t have an air conditioner but are planning on buying one pretty soon. It’s become more or less a necessity at this point. There’s definitely a problem when it’s cooler outside than it is in our apartment. I suppose that’s what we get for living on the top floor here.

I’ve gotten a fair amount of music lately. I think my favorites are Horace Andy’s Skylarking, Buck 65’s Live and In Private, Trentemoller’s Singles Collection vol 4 and a baile funk compilation called Rio Baile Funk, More Favela Booty Beats. Fun stuff.

I finally went and got my haircut today. It was the longest it’s been in a very long time. I’ve been planning on getting it cut for over a month not but kept pushing it off. The VP of sales is in town right now though so I figured it would be good if I didn’t go into work looking like Lhasa Apso.

Jackie and I went to Amish country on Sunday to pick up a wicker room divider she won off ebay. It was way too long of a drive (was in PA) and while going crazy on our way back home we started taking pictures with her camera phone. Some turned out really well, some were weird, some funny and one that is just frightening. Seriously, I have no idea how we got so much… conviction? in the photo but damn if it doesn’t look real. Looky:

And finally, for the scary one… I’m not going to even inline it it’s so bad but click the link if you want to see it. We were laughing hysterically at it because of how real it looks until we realized just how real it looks…

Scary

We actually had it up on our myspace pages originally but decided to remove it after about 5 minutes because it started to really bother us.

My mom is in Hawaii right now. For the past week she’s been sending me text messages about how nice it is. I’m jealous. I would love to be there. She said it’s not humid and, since I’m sure the hotel has air conditioning I’m sure I’d love it.

In case you missed out on the news, the Spice Girls have reunited for an 11 day world tour. Yeesh.

Today is Jackie and I’s five month anniversary.  Exciting exciting, I love this girl so much!  It’s weird how on one hand it feels like we’ve been together for years, but on the other hand it also feels like we just met.  Today is also Jackie’s first day as a CPRP.  She got her acceptance letter in the mail yesterday that she passed the exam and is now a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner.

Woot!  :)

I’m also about 2 minutes away from having Apple’s new OS, 10.5.  It’s downloading at 2.0MB/s right now  :D   I love my connection…  I think I’ll be installing it on my laptop first to see how I like it and whether I trust it enough to install it on my main computer.  I’m not sure how nice it’ll play with my laptop since it’s so old but… I guess we’ll find out!

On saturday my boss came up to me and more or less asked what my plans were in regards to the job. He asked how settled I was here, whether I’d be moving, what the odds were of me taking another job if one came up, etc. I told him there’s no way in the world I’ll be able to get Jackie to move away any time soon and I’m definitely staying here. He said he wanted to know because eventually we’ll be moving into a “Supercenter” and there will be room for me to be a TO (manager) there and maybe one day replace him as Director. Pretty rad. He ended that by saying that he thought those were my plans but Mike (the VP of Sales) wanted to be sure. So, as if it’s not a big enough deal that my boss sees me in that light, the VP also sees me as heading in that direction. That made me real happy.

I went to the doctor yesterday. Jackie had been worried about my shortness of breath and she thinks I’m showing signs of Diabetes so she made an appointment. No diabetes but the doctor thinks if I continue my diet the way I am that it probably won’t be long, given my family history. He said the shortness of breath is ‘Allergic Rhinitis’. I looked that up when I got home, only to find that it’s basically hay fever. Of course, what’s giving me the shortness of breath isn’t hay, but a variety of other things so he prescribed me some meds to try to make me less dependent on my inhaler.

So now I’m trying to get used to taking one pill in the morning, one at night and totally changing around what I eat. Not exactly easy. Food is, sadly, very important to me so this isn’t going to be easy. I kept wanting different things to eat yesterday and was consistently denied by Jackie. Needless to say I was less than pleasant :) Hopefully I get used to it and don’t mind it and maybe get a little healthier to boot. Who knows, only time (and a girlfriend nazi like in her dedication) will tell.

Despite all that, probably the greatest thing of the past few days is finding out Jackie is a Tetris junkie. I booted up my emulators and got out my usb controller and we’ve been going back and forth playing Tetris. :) So far she has the first two of the top three scores, but I’m slowly working my way there. She’s crazy good.

Japanese TV is insane.  I don’t know whether this is frightening or amazing, but either way I can’t believe how well these kids did.

According to one of the comments on youtube:

This was a big deal in Japan. The show had a “talent show” to meet Depp. The one previously was even better, as the kids (high school) had to come up with English jokes to make him laugh. He was a great sport about it.  Tom Cruise also gets this type of treatment in Japan.

Haven’t found the previous video mentioned in that yet.

45 Sessions

I’ve missed it the last couple times since Jackie and I moved into OG, so I don’t want to forget the next one!

They’re trying to build a massive pyramid in the Tokyo Bay. Looks incredible, have a look.

This game is incredibly addictive. Read the directions first and then be prepared to lose a few hours to it. :)

Jackie made me breakfast this morning.  As you can see, it was awesome :D <3

Here’s a couple things I found that I’d certainly love to call mine
