Zen Habits

Awesome website. I added to Google Reader and I’ve been reading it a lot lately. I’d say at least 1 out of every 3 posts on there is getting ’starred’ to be read a few times over in the future. Some examples:
- 20 Tricks to Nuke a Bad Habit
- A Guide to Escaping Materialism and Finding Happiness
- The 12-Step Get-Out-Of-Debt Program
- 73 Great Debt Elimination Tips
- 80 Awesome Weight Loss Tips
- A Simple Guide to Setting and Achieving Your Life Goals
Some of their tips are totally obvious (laughably so, even) but there’s usually at least a handful of real useful information in their posts. I’d definitely suggest bookmarking the site and going back through previous posts
Arcade Springsteen
July 6, 2007
Lately I’ve been on an Arcade Fire kick. The more I listen to them, the more I like them. “Orchestral rock band” normally sends off messages in my head saying it’ll be pretentious junk that I’ll end up turning off right away. The only reason I started listening to them is because I’d seen their name here and there, but not too often and then I saw them on a torrent site and figured I’d give it a listen and see what it’s like. At least if I didn’t like it I could just delete it and pretend I never even listened to them. In fact, when I started listening to them it was just as background music in the middle of a playlist of newer music I had gotten. They stuck out so I turned it up and listened some more. After listening to ‘Neon Bible’ I’ve decided that this is the type of music that Bruce Springsteen would be making if he was my age and just starting out making music. And, surprisingly, I mean that in a positive way. I’m not talking lyrics I suppose, but more so the guy’s voice and I guess the general feeling of the music. Listen:
Bruce Springsteen – Thunder Road
Maybe I’m crazy, but I really think there’s a lot of similarities between them. Let me know what you think
